How to edit the details of a worship plan item

There are a number of features available to you in the Edit View of a worship plan item.

1. Length

If you are tracking time in your worship plan, you will need to include the length of each item that needs to have time associated with it. Time is designated in hours and minutes. Length is entered as minutes an seconds. Time is adjusted to the nearest minute according to the length of the item. When you re-arrange the order of items in a worship plan, the time is automatically adjusted based on the length. If an item does not have a length, it will not show a time.

2. Lookup (for Songs and Media)

If the item type is a Song or Media, then the title box functions like a search field, and the Lookup button can link into an item from PraiseCharts or WorshipVue. The Lookup button will only function if your item type is Song or Media. If it is Song, the Lookup will search the PraiseCharts catalog. If it is Media, the Lookup will search the WorshipVue catalog.

3. Key and BPM.

If the item is a song, you may find it helpful to list they key and BPM (Beats Per Measure) for your band members.

4. Leader

If there is a significant leader in charge of an item in the Worship Plan, you can list the name here.

5. Item Types

There are five types of worship plan items. "Item" is a generic type used for things that don't involve music or media. "Header" will display the item with a grey background. This is useful to visually indicate major sections of a worship plan. "Song" and "Media" must be selected as item types if they are going to connect to products in PraiseCharts or WorshipVue. "Cue" is useful for designating notes to the sound or media tech people. These items can be turned on or off in the Export Options.

6. Item Content

An expanded item can include formatted content such as lyrics, scriptures, readings, comments or links. You may or may not want to include all of the content when you Export your worship plan. Therefore it is important to designate the content appropriately using the simple format code.
