Guidelines For An Extemporaneous Prayer Of Thanksgiving

Traditions that do not use fixed prayers may follow the suggestions below:

Begin with thanks for the goodness of God made available to us in Creation.

Recall the people of faith such as Abraham, Moses, David, prophets, Miriam, Deborah, Ruth, Hulda, Elizabeth, Dorcas, Priscilla, or others through whom the continued witness of God's activity in the world has been made.

Make thanks for God's salvific action in Jesus Christ, in his incarnation, death, and resurrection.
